February 8, 2011 – As Google users visit its search engine home page, they will see a special interactive doodle designed with a window of a ship showing the underwater sea creatures. Google features this amazing Google Doodle to celebrate the 183rd birthday of Jules Gabriel Verne, a French science-fiction novelist who is widely known as the “Father of Science Fiction“.
Jules Verne is best known for his novel, “Twenty Thousands Leagues Under the Sea” which seem to be the inspiration for today’s Google Doodle.
What’s cool in this latest Doodle is it has an interactive joystick on its right side that lets you control the direction of the ship , either up, down, or sideways. Once you move it downward, it gets you dive into the dark blue depths of the ocean and explore the sea life and creatures. On the left side of the Doodle, there are three compass which show the changes you made on the joystick.
