April 12, 2011 – Farmer/Panda Google update has seem to be affecting a lot of sites with their ranking. It has been noted that there are many examples of sites that have provided original content are being outranked by other sites that have taken their original content. In a nutshell, Google has been muddling up the site that created an original content and labeling them as a low quality site, while then ranking the site that stole the original content above the original content creator; thus, outranking them.
For some webmasters, this has always been a concern. But since the farmer / panda Google update, it has greatly concerned these webmasters for these updates have become more of an issue.
Matt Cutts recently addressed this issue in a video that suggests things that we all most likely know about Google. Google can crawl fast. It can prioritize based on page rank. Tweets may be followed faster. Google can hook up pubsubhubbub, a simple, open, server-to-server web-hook-based pubsub (publish/subscribe) protocol, as an extension to Atom and RSS. Google can also push out these updates and use the DMCA ( Digital Millennium Copyright Act ) request to make one the who stole your web content remove the content and also allows you to submit a spam report.
Matt believed that it is possible that your original piece of content would be outranked over by the stolen piece of content by Google.
Matt commented that what is cool with Google is it can almost crawl the entire web at the same time and it can also potentially crash the web if they did that.
Nevertheless, because lots of webmasters are using Google’s DMCA page, it is getting hit hardly now. As a matter of fact, Google Webmaster Help forums have reported that Google’s DMCA page had major issues this week.
