August 08, 2011 – Just last June, the giant of search, Google, has launched its new feature called “Instant Pages”, which was only available to Google Chrome beta users.
Now, Google’s Instant Pages feature is now available in Google’s upgraded stable version 13 of Chrome browser.
Google Chrome browser version 13 now includes a “Instant Pages” feature that displays Google search results more quickly.
The new upgraded stable Chrome browser version is now available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
To fully understand the new Chrome browser feature, here is a little background about Instant pages.
What is “Instant Pages”?
Google’s Instant pages is a new feature to help users get to their desired search results even faster or in some cases even instantly. This feature is enabled by prerendering technology that Google is building into Chrome and then is intelligently triggered by web search when Google is very confident about which result is the best answer for the user’s search.
This prerendering technology is in the Chrome Dev Channel and was previously available for Google Chrome beta users.
How it Works?
Enabled by prerendering technology, Google will only trigger Instant Pages when they have very high confidence that a website is the exact result users are looking for.
By prerendering the top search result, when users click the link, the page loads instantly and users can start interacting with that site almost immediately, without having to wait for text and images to load.
More Chrome Enhancements
Moreover, Google has also updated the Chrome browser version 13 with a few other enhancements, the print preview. It is now built-in with a PDF viewer and “print to PDF” option.
Google also reveals that history matching is improved when users type in the omnibox, Chrome’s combination search box and address bar, making it even easier for users to get back to pages they have visited before.
