Google has formally launched their Local Business Photos where Google send photographers to business owners for free and take pictures of their business to be placed in their “Photos and Videos Section” of their Google Place Page. This service aims to help users who are looking for more information about a business.

, officially announced this service at the Social-Loco Conference recently held in San Francisco. According to her, this service is not a launch of a new product, but the formalization of a service that has been available to public in a more limited way since last year.
Google encourages local businesses to apply for a Google photo shoot of your business as this can be helpful to showcase your offered services or products and attract more potential customers to inquire on your business.
Currently, Google photographers are available in selected cities in the US, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Any business can request for a photo shoot, and demand will help them decide where to send their photographers next.
