July 14, 2011 – Just last March of this year, Google has released its new social media button called Google +1 button that is found on Google.com search results.
Basically, +1 button is similar to the Facebook “like” button which is shorthand for “You should check this out”.
Google Australia has announced that its new social search initiative, Google + 1, is now live in Australia.
Google 1+ buttons are now starting to appear on Google’s search results in Australia for all signed-in users.
Just like on Google.com, this button is “a way for you to recommend an article, news or any content to your friends, contacts and the rest of the world directly from Google search results and ads.”
Where Is It Found?
Google +1 buttons are not only found in search engine result pages (SERPs), they also appear in any large and small websites across the Internet.
Since the end of June, users can +1 local companies on Truelocal, holiday and hotel accommodations at Stayz, cars at Mitsubishi, daily deals on Spreets, electronics at Kogan and any other local businesses in Australia.
Australia SEO website owners as well as search engine optimization experts can implement the +1 button on their site within minutes.
How does Google know which +1’s to Show?
Google says, “we will use many signals to identify the most useful recommendations, including the people you are already connected to through Google (your chat buddies and contacts, for example)”.
How to +1’ing your Recommended “LIKES”?
To +1’ing an article, news or content you want to recommend to your friends, you need to create your own Google Profile. This can be used for viewing all of your +1’s in one place, and deleting those you no longer want to recommend.
If you want to see +1’s in your Google search results, you must first log into your Google Account.
