A good place to find and read useful SEO Articles and most up-to-date SEO News

July 7, 2011 – As of last July 4, Google told their users through a tweet on their Google Realtime Twitter feed that it has temporarily disabled its Realtime Search feature subsequent to the expiration of a deal with Twitter.

Google Realtime Search is a feature of Google Search in which search results also sometimes include real-time information from sources that include Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and news websites, though Twitter was the most dominant content within the service.

Its user interface has a live, descending “river” of posts in the main region which can be stopped or continued, while a bar chart metric of the frequency of posts containing a certain search term or hashtag is located on the right hand corner of the page above a list of most frequently-reposted posts and outgoing links.

Now, the realtime search option became inaccessible and has disappeared from the search results sidebar, with the Real-Time link, Google.com/realtime, in the Google sidebar disappearing and returning a custom 404 error page.

However, Google stated that although they do not have access to this special feed from Twitter, information on Twitter that is publicly available to their search engine crawlers will still be searchable and discoverable on Google.

Google originally suggested that the interruption was temporary and is said to be connected to the launch of Google+. Then later, they announced that Realtime search was suspended after the expiry, which was last July 2, 2011, of Google’s commercial arrangement with Twitter to provide access to tweets or the full feed of public updates. The original Twitter search agreement dates back to October 2009.

Meanwhile, Google said that its Realtime Search feature will be relaunched though they did not set a time frame. And when it relaunches, it will include realtime data from a variety of sources along with its Google+ information.
