Google’s Matt Cutts has just posted a new video entitled “How should I handle localized content?” which he recommends to proof read auto-translated text generated from Google Translate Tool.
Google recommends that the site’s content should be human readable before publishing it on your own website so that your site would not give a bad experience for users.
Matt Cutts said on a video “our guidelines about auto-generated stuff can also applied to auto-translated text”. So if your content has been completely auto-translated and doesn’t even read well and understand by search users at all and no one has put any kind of human care to proof read it, then that can be against Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.
He also suggests webmasters to just add a Language Translator widget to translate the content to different language instead of auto-translate it into a bunch of languages and just throw that content up there without manually looking into it.
