August 11, 2011 – Google’s Quality Engineer and Liaison to the SEO Community, Matt Cutts, has shared a new batch of webmaster tutorial videos.
These new webmaster tutorial videos are much longer and cover important webmaster-related topics.
Google’s head of web spam has been involved in short videos focusing on quick answers to specific questions some time now. The short videos have always been informative, and have undertaken quite a lot of issues that common webmasters and search engine optimization firms face on a day-to-day basis.
Now, Cutts is appearing in some much longer more tutorial-driven videos.
Google has released over the past couple of years over 375 videos on our YouTube channel, in which majority of these videos focus on answering direct questions from webmasters and search engine optimization experts. Now, starting with the release of these latest webmaster tutorial videos, important webmaster-related topics are more thoroughly taken up and answered.
According to Michael Wyszomierski on Google’s Search Quality Team, “Today, we’re starting to release a freshly baked batch of videos, and you might notice that some of these are a little different.”
The first webmaster tutorial video is about what the limits are for 301 redirects at Google. Cutts explained in the video that there is no cap in the number of 301 redirects from a site to another site, though it’s best not to redirect one page to too many redirects. However, there is a limit of about 4 or 5 hops in a redirect and it might be dangerous.
This is good news for website owners, for inquiries about important webmaster-related topics could now be better explained on videos.
If you want first to hear about the new webmaster tutorial videos as they are released, you can subscribe to Google’s YouTube channel or following Google on Twitter.
