Google has announced just recently that it has rolled out a new touch-friendly version of Google search that makes some key changes for the tablet form factor.
As part of Google’s effort of evolving its design and experience, Google has optimized its www.google.com search experience on tablets to better serve iPad and Android tablet users.
According to Search Engine Optimisation Experts, Google’s services don’t usually have interfaces optimized for tablets. They either use the desktop version (Google Search) or use the mobile version (Google Calendar, Google Docs).
What is this Google Search for Tablets?
Google has optimized its tablet interface by simplifying its layout of search results pages and increasing the size of page contents like text, buttons and other touch targets in order to make it faster and easier to browse and interact with search results in portrait or landscape view.
The new search UI for tablet devices is based on the redesigned Google Search site and the new design elements being rolled out across Google websites, used by the desktop version of Google Search and Google+. It caters to the specific needs of these devices, buttons are used instead of links and everything is better spaced out and more separated.

- Series of tap-friendly menus
These menus are found at the top of the page that let you jump between standard results, video, images, and other options. An adjacent menu will let you narrow the date range of results as well.
- Search button
This search button which is located below the search box will provide quick access to specific types of results like Images, Videos, Places, Shopping and more. Just tap to open the search menu and select an option to see results in one category.
- Enhanced image results
Image results are enhanced with larger thumbnails and continuous scrolling and much faster load times of image thumbnails to enhance the viewing experience
This is good news for SEO company for many people are now using internet mobiles so the SEO services they offer are now quite easily accessible to tablet users.
The upgrade will be available shortly for iPad and Android 3.1.
