A good place to find and read useful SEO Articles and most up-to-date SEO News

October 18, 2102 - Following Google’s constant series of algorithm updates, On-Page SEO seems to have gotten renewed.

A video was posted by Rand Fishkin on the new additions to the existing On-page SEO factors. These include among others, Google’s recent updates to its EMD, Penguin, Panda and Top Heavy algorithms.

With Google and other search engines wanting great user experience, a fully optimized website in case of On-page factors, is said to have both great searcher intent, what users want (User need) and the page content purpose (What your website provides?). Nowadays, not only should you optimize your keywords you wish to be known for, but also you need to make sure that you also provide useful information and what you are promising, actually giving your visitor what they need and are useful to them. This will definitely make them have a second visit.

AuthorRank is now becoming a more Major Ranking Factor as what Rand made clear through his experiments that rel=author enhanced articles have gotten a higher click-through rate.

Having the keyword targeting to try and rank well is no longer the only thing that we should worry about. Now, brand building has become increasingly very vital now, as people tend to click through a site looking at the domain name or brand name of the website appearing in the URL. They seem to bias their clicks by what is appearing in the URL because they’re starting to recognize domain names as brands and prefer some domains over others. So make sure to build your brand presence to be visible in search engine rankings.

As U.S. broad band tend to be slower as compared to Scandinavian countries, Taiwan, and some parts of Europe, Asia, and Eastern Europe, in order to overcome this difficulty, Rand says, “Having pages that load fast, that aren’t hugely intensive, that take four or five seconds or less is really important. Having responsive design where this title and menu element and the images get shrunk down so that all that side bar content or maybe the heavy advertising and stuff makes it’s way into a smaller page on a mobile device or on an iPad, or an Android tablet, or those kinds of things is extremely important.”

Time on site and crawl rate do not only influence how search engines interact and how you rank, but also whether your index and how you perform with users, so they are incredibly important.

It was also pointed out that nowadays, pages need to be socially sharable. This means that your post, which you post on Pinterest or Facebook, must have an image that fits “the proportions that shows up well when the URL is shared on Facebook, shared on Google+.”

Though, in the past social media sharing factor’s connection with On-page SEO was never a thing into consideration, nowadays, it is an important factor.

Lastly, according to Rand and agreed by many experts in SEO, old SEO methods are still valuable and should be continue to be followed, since those who are still doing this right are succeeding.
