As a feature in Webmaster Tools, “Links to your site” has now been updated to demonstrate which domains make the most link to your site. This is an addition to the other improvements that have been made in Webmaster Tools. The overview page displays the three main sections of this feature, namely the domains linking most to your site, the pages on your site with the most links, and the sampling of the anchor text external sites are using when they link to your site.

By clicking the “More>>” link under the “Who links the most” section, you will be taken to a new view which shows the list of all the domains which link to your site. The domains listed are expandable so as to display an example of pages from your site which are linked to by that domain.

On the other hand, the “More>>” link under each specific domain shows the lists of the pages linked to by that specific domain. The total count of links from a certain domain, as well as the total count of your site’s pages linked to from that domain, is shown on the top part of the page.

“Your most linked content” view from the overview page will lead you to the listing of all your site’s most important linked pages. A link count of each page and the count of domains linking to that page are also included. To expand the view that will enable you to see examples of the leading domains leading to that page and the number of links to the given page from each listed domain, you can just click any of the pages included I the list. There is now a more comprehensive data which is used for link counts and throughout the “Links to your site” feature. This includes the links redirected which uses 301 or 302 HTTP redirects.

An associated “More>>” link which will display all the domains linking to a specific page on your site is listed in the “All linked pages” view. The domains listed will take you to the report of all the pages from that certain domain which links to your specific page.

Google hopes that through the updated “Links to your site” feature of the Webmaster Tools, search engine optimization experts will have a better understanding of where the links to the site are coming from. This will also improve the ability of a website to track the changes made to the site’s link profile.
