Facebook has just launched “Send Button”, its new social plugin that can be used by users to easily share content to their selected friends privately.
With “Send Button”, it’s now possible for facebook users to privately send content to their specific friends. They can simply share a URL to the inbox of their facebook’s friends, to a particular facebook group’s wall they are currently a member of and to any email address of their friends. Previously, all of these things can’t be done with “Like Button” as it only allows users to share content with all of their friends. But now that Facebook Send Button has been introduced, it solves all of these issues.
Search Engine Optimization Experts or Webmasters have two options to use this social plugin. They can use it as a standalone button. They just have to visit http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/send/ and place their site or blog’s url on the form and get the code. But if they want to show a Like Button on its side, they can use “Combined Like and Send Button”. To implement this, they have to modify the Send attribute in their Like Button Code by adding “send=true”.
