July 20, 2012 – LinkedIn has recently rolled out a new design on its homepage, making it easier and simpler for users to navigate.
As posted in its blog, LinkedIn recognizes the millions of people who enter the website in order to know and discuss, along with the other users, the matters that are important to their professional lives. And because of this, LinkedIn has decided to roll out a simpler and easier way to navigate their page. With this, better and quicker access to information are made available.
Now, there is no more text-heavy stream of updates as these are being replaced by a media-rich feed that if anything, looks a little bit like Google+.
The new homepage layout now displays a “newer, simpler, and more modern design”.
LinkedIn says that their entire Homepage experience was revamped with a new look and feel. This was done to make it easier for users to scan and find the information that matters most.
According to LinkedIn, the new design is much simpler and cleaner and helps the user become able to navigate through the page. It also enables the user to easily and quickly find the updates he or she is looking for.
Also one of the changes, which is also the biggest, is the update stream, which is cleaner and richer, a bit heavier on the media, especially photos.
LinkedIn posted, “We’ve completely refreshed the way updates look and feel in the stream with richer visuals for easier scanning and viewing. You can also see a continuous stream of updates without clicking “see more” to access all the latest updates from your network. It’s also easier for you to see what your connections are talking about and engage in these professional conversations by liking, commenting or sharing the updates that are most important to you.”
The stream has also been augmented to show important updates to the top. These “Important updates” include things like “trending topics, news, and professional updates based on what your connections and industry are reading, sharing, and discussing.”
Now, social media marketers and professional SEOs can see the most important network updates and articles at the top of the feed.
This is done, according to LinkedIn, and it is a way to easily stay on top of anything that matters to the user. These would include news, trending topics, professional updates and the things that their connections and the industry are actually interested in. This further helps the user make use of his time wisely.
