What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is an online pin board where you can create, organize and share theme-based  image collections you find interesting.

Pinterest lets users label and create theme-based image boards, as well as populate their own boards with media found online using the “Pin It button”. Each item of the media is known as a “pin,” and can be a picture, a video, a discussion or a monetary gift.

Pins may be divided into pictures, videos, discussions, and gifts and can be grouped into “boards,” which are sets of pins created on a given topic. Users can enable Pins to show up on the homepage through a Pin Feed that takes into account timing of pin, re-pinning activity, ‘like’ activity, and comment activity.
