A good place to find and read useful SEO Articles and most up-to-date SEO News

December 9, 2011 – Attention Search Engine Optimisation Experts!

The largest and most comprehensive branding and redesign initiative StumbleUpon has made in the company’s history, according to StumbleUpon founder and CEO Garrett Camp, was recently done last Monday.

StumbleUpon, a social network link discovery engine that allows random exploration of the Web, had just undergone a major makeover early this week. The first in nearly almost a decade, the major update had cleaned up the site’s user interface, totally redesigned the site’s design, rebranded a new logo, and added a new channel feature that allows users to subscribe to content streams curated by celebrities, publications, and brands.

According to Mr. Camp, the changes undergone reflect what their users are looking for when they have some free time and want to be entertained.

Heralding the shift is StumbleUpon’s redesigned logo. Gone is the familiar blue and green “SU” logo, now users can see simple reddish-orange circle with a more elegant “SU” design.

The site’s user interface also got a major upgrade. Now, the Stumble bar — the site’s main navigation tool — has far fewer buttons, making the voting buttons much more prominent. Now, users can see the Stumble button as the first on the bar, followed by the selected category of link discovery, voting buttons, simple share and comment icons, and the name of the user who submitted the link.

The Stumble bar is now also showcasing an integrated Explore Box, a feature that allows users to easily find more contents in specific categories, with a quick search option.

Another significant update is the addition of Stumble Channels. This new feature allows users to directly explore content from sites, celebrities, and brands. Currently, under StumbleUpon’s new format, there are more than 250 brands, actors, and sports figures that have set up channels, which have been hand-picked and authenticated by the StumbleUpon staff to ensure quality.

This major revamp is good news to people who are providing Search Engine Optimization Service. As the major upgrades can grab new users and/or higher levels of engagement, SEOs can leverage these healthy levels of both user growth and activity in their SEO campaign.
