WordPress.com has added a new feature on its social tool, which enables users to leave comments using their Twitter and Facebook Accounts.
Users and its visitors would just have to click on the Facebook or Twitter button then a new window will appear from that service that will ask them to log in and approve giving their information to your blog. This particular window is controlled by Facebook or Twitter for security reasons.
Likewise, it is possible for users and its visitors to be logged in to various services at the same time by just clicking whichever identity they would like to choose when posting a comment. A choice of leaving a comment as a guest is also part of the new feature.
The look and style of the button is branded to look like Facebook/Twitter to make it more recognizable, so the style or appearance of the button cannot be changed.
The prompt that appears before the comment area can also be changed.
This new feature will open up a lot more commenting opportunities for WordPress.com blogs.
This is good news for search engine optimization experts for it is a fact that Google has confirmed last December that links shared through Twitter and Facebook have directly impacted search rankings.
Google has added many social search features and are using “social signals” to help rank regular search results. So this new feature in WordPress.com could strengthen its professional SEO value for it could help influence how a page ranks in web search for comments, especially form Facebook and Twitter, help WordPress.com, as well as increase blog owners’ visibility in search engines.
